MARIE-ANTOINETTE SUITE
One of the most influential personalities at Le Negresco, the legendary French queen Marie-Antoinette, personally greets you in one of the hotel’s grandest suites. With its blue and golden hues, the salon recreates the most vibrant moments of the late 18th century. From the spacious terrace with its majestic columns, guests are treated to the exhilaration of the great outdoors, as the blue of the Mediterranean Sea spreads out endlessly, emphasising the feminine grace and discreet elegance that reign supreme here.

The salon has been carefully designed down to the smallest possible detail and is beautifully decorated with Sèvres vases in muted tones, period furniture, and a staff decoration featuring ribbons and garlands, created by a Meilleur Ouvrier de France. The gold-yellow ornamental upholstery, featuring scrolls* and putti**, is akin to that of Louis XVI’s library at the Château de Versailles.
* The rinceau is an ornamental motif consisting essentially of a sinuous and branching scroll elaborated with leaves and other natural forms. ** An architectural ornamentation designating a statue or bas-relief of a chubby, laughing infant.
Just as in royal days, it is the work of Tassinari & Chatel, a silk manufacturer founded in 1680 and accredited with the EPV ("Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" - “Living Heritage Company”) label. The delicate neoclassical style of the bedroom is epitomised by a bed crowned by a magnificent, draped dome while the medallion and garlands are directly inspired by the Queen’s bed at the Petit Trianon. On both sides, two caryatids accentuate the grandeur of the room and its majestic volumes...

Allow yourself to be seduced by the magic of the Louis XV epoch. The Marie Leszczynska Suite epitomises the refinement and grace of the rocaille style to the smallest detail. With its spaciousness and soft colours, the salon exudes the elegance of the king’s wife. Standing on the majestic terrace, one of the largest of Le Negresco, you will dominate the palm trees of the Promenade des Anglais and the bright horizon of the Mediterranean.
